. And she put it back off her knees, changed by Hera's promptings, and no longer did she waver between plans; but she longed for dawn to rise and appear soon, so that she could give him the charming drugs, as promised, and meet him face to face.

Interpretation
And she put the casket back down from her knees, her mind changed by Hera's promptings, and wavered no longer between one plan and another. She longed for dawn to rise quickly, so that she could give him the charming drugs as she had promised and meet him face to face.
Hera's promptings turn her for good. She puts the casket away, stops wavering, and wants one thing only: dawn, so that she can give Jason the drugs and meet him face to face.
The drugs are θελκτήρια again, charms that soothe and bind. Mooney renders συνθεσίῃσι "according to her compact," the promise she made her sister Chalciope before the night began.

Lines 822–827. Morning comes, and Argus goes ahead to the ship while his brothers stay behind.
· · ·
And again and again she undid the bolts of her doors, watching for the light. And Dawn cast a welcome light on her, and everyone began to stir through the town. Then Argus told his brothers to stay there still, so that they could watch the girl's mind and plans; but he himself went back to the ship ahead of them, parting from them.
