καὶ ἔστωσαν εἰς φαῦσιν ἐν τῷ στερεώματι τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, ὥστε φαίνειν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς. καὶ ἐγένετο οὕτως.
The command's purpose clause completes: the lights are for φαῦσις, shining upon the earth. As with the earlier commands, fulfilment (“it was so”) follows immediately.
