Καὶ ἔζησεν Καινὰν ἑκατὸν ἑβδομήκοντα ἔτη, καὶ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Μαλελεήλ.
The fourth patriarch. Καινάν here is the LXX’s own spelling; the same figure is named in Luke’s genealogy of Jesus (Luke 3:36-38, which follows this very line down to Adam) under the slightly different New Testament spelling Καϊνάμ — see the lexicon note at this lemma.
