The pearl of Caesar

Read the full text in our reader

The pearl of Caesar lit up Capitu's eyes. It was on that occasion that she asked my mother why she no longer used the jewels of the portrait; she referred to the one that was in the living room, with that of my father; it had a large necklace, a tiara and earrings. — They are widowed jewels, like me, Capitu.
