A note on this passage

'Não falles tão alto' — don't speak so loud — is the tell of the whole scene: he needs her quiet because a raised voice would bring witnesses. The bargain, 'um beijo só, e já te deixo', one kiss and I'll go, treats her refusal as a price to be haggled down. What she has already said plainly is recast as a figure open to negotiation.
