Her complaint is a worker's before it is a woman's: she cannot get through a moment's task without being interrupted. And note the plural, 'não me venhão' — they come — she is not troubled by one man but by a household of them. 'Declarações que não devo escutar', declarations I must not hear, marks the line duty draws for her even as everyone else steps over it.
