The setting

if you do not hound me with your wicked tongue, as you are beginning to do,

A note on this passage

Isaura's one condition, offered almost gently: leave me alone. 'A tua má lingua,' your wicked tongue, names the weapon precisely, and 'como principias a fazer,' as you are starting to do, notes that the hounding has only just begun. She is asking for a peace she already suspects she will not get.
