Leôncio dismisses her loyalty as immaturity again — 'Escrupulos de creança!,' a child's scruples. He reduces her deepest moral commitment to a girlish qualm to be talked out of, and presses on ('escuta ainda,' listen still). The pattern of the whole scene holds: every principled refusal he reclassifies as inexperience, so that persuasion, not consent, becomes the only thing at stake.
