A silver ocean of delirium

He was not thinking; he was raving. Before his eyes, his exalted imagination showed him a silvery sea, an ocean of molten metal, white and resplendent, that went to lose itself in the infinite. The waves of that sea of silver now rippled like watered silk, now rolled forming flakes of foam that seemed flowers of diamonds, emeralds and rubies glittering in the light of the sun.
