Quanto a D. Lauriana, via em Peri um cão fiel que tinha um momento prestado um serviço à família e a quem se pagava com um naco de pão. Devemos porém dizer que não era por mau coração que ela pensava assim, mas por prejuízos de educação.
As for D. Lauriana, she saw in Peri a faithful dog that had once done the family a service and was paid with a scrap of bread. We must say, however, that it was not from a bad heart that she thought so, but from the prejudices of her upbringing.
