O moço tirou o colar que deva três voltas sobre os ombros, e apresentou a Loredano a cruz vermelha do Cristo que lhe pendia do peito; o aventureiro estendeu a mão, e repetiu o juramento.
The young man took off the necklace that wound three times around his shoulders, and held out to Loredano the red cross of Christ that hung from his chest; the adventurer stretched out his hand, and repeated the oath.
