δραμὼν δέ τις καὶ γεμίσας σπόγγον ὄξους περιθεὶς καλάμῳ ἐπότιζεν αὐτόν, λέγων Ἄφετε ἴδωμεν εἰ ἔρχεται Ἡλείας καθελεῖν αὐτόν.

And one ran and filled a sponge with vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let be; let us see whether Elijah comes to take him down.
