Interpretation
spirit-light, ōai; fire-joy, eloure; fair-light, azai; Aion, achba; light-ruler, pepper prepempipi; fire-bodied, phnounioch; light-giver; fire-sower, arei eikita;
The titles keep coming, and their sheer accumulation is the point: the god cannot be caught in one name, so the rite throws twenty at him. Read them together and a theology surfaces — this is a deity of light as substance. He does not merely make light; he is spirit-light, fair-light, light-ruler, light-giver; his body is fire (pyrisṓmate), he sows fire, he rejoices in it. The Hermetic identification of God with Light-and-Life stands just behind every compound. And set in the middle of the pile, without fanfare, is Aion — the same Aion the initiate came to behold. The god of the fire-doors and the god of eternal time are the same being, hailed now to his face. Each Greek epithet is still shadowed by its sounded name (ōai, eloure, azai…), so the whole passage reads as a litany you could chant: meaning and music braided, a rosary of light-words each with its bead of pure sound.

The titles climax and turn to petition: fire-whirler (gallabalba), light-force (iaiaō), fire-eddy, light-mover (sancherōb), thunderbolt-driver, glory of light, increaser of light, star-tamer — 'open to me, forth-shining one!'
