καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ὁ θεὸς τὸ στερέωμα οὐρανόν· καὶ ἴδεν ὁ θεὸς ὅτι καλόν. καὶ ἐγένετο ἑσπέρα καὶ ἐγένετο πρωί, ἡμέρα δευτέρα.
God names his second work: the firmament is called οὐρανός, “Heaven”/“sky” — the same word used for “the heaven” in 1:1, now given its own more local sense as the visible dome overhead. The day-refrain repeats.
