καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν Κύριος ὁ θεὸς τὴν πλευράν, ἣν ἔλαβεν ἀπὸ τοῦ Ἀδάμ, εἰς γυναῖκα· καὶ ἤγαγεν αὐτὴν πρὸς τὸν Ἀδάμ.
ᾠκοδόμησεν, "he built" — a construction verb, not the ἔπλασεν ("moulded") used of the man and animals; the woman is architected rather than sculpted. Chapter 1 (1:27) already said God made humankind "male and female"; this account now supplies the how.
