καὶ ἐγένοντο πᾶσαι αἱ ἡμέραι Ἰάρεδ ἐννακόσια καὶ ἑξήκοντα δύο ἔτη, καὶ ἀπέθανεν.
Jared’s total — at 962 years, the second-longest life in this chapter, just short of his own great-grandson Methuselah’s record (v.27). The refrain closes his life as it has every life so far; the next name in the list is his son Enoch, where, for the first and only time in the whole chapter, it will not.
