Καὶ ἔζησεν Ἑνὼχ ἑκατὸν καὶ ἑξήκοντα πέντε ἔτη, καὶ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Μαθουσάλα.
The seventh patriarch — and the man whose story is about to break every pattern this chapter has set. So far Enoch’s life looks exactly like his ancestors’: so many years, a son. What changes is what the text says about the years that come after (v.22).
