Noah's drunkenness

καὶ ἔπιεν ἐκ τοῦ οἴνου καὶ ἐμεθύσθη, καὶ ἐγυμνώθη ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ.
Three bare verbs carry the whole scene — drank, was drunk, was uncovered — with no comment on how it happened; the narrator's silence about Noah's fault is itself striking, especially set against the covenant just concluded. Swete reads the partitive ἐκ τοῦ οἴνου ("drank of/from the wine"); Brenton's 1851 text has the bare genitive τοῦ οἴνου, without ἐκ.
