Ἰδὼν δὲ ἐκεῖ Ἰούδαν καὶ Γὰδ καὶ Ἀσήρ, τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ, εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ἀναστήσατέ με, ὅπως εἴπω τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς μου καὶ τοῖς τέκνοις μου, ὅσα ἔχω ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ μου κρυπτά· ἰδοὺ γὰρ ἐκλείπω ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν ἐγώ.

The setting

Seeing three of his brothers there — Judah, Gad and Asher — Reuben asks to be lifted up, so that he can speak the thing he has kept hidden in his heart before he fails. The confession is coming.
