Interpretation
And all will fear, and the Watchers will quake, and fear and great trembling will seize them, to the ends of the earth.

The Watchers are ትጉሃን tǝguhān, “the wakeful ones”, and this verse is the first reference in Dillmann’s entry for the word. He also cites it for fǝrhat, “fear”, for raʿād, “trembling”, and for ʾadlaqlaqa, “to shake”, which he says is said of men and of angels.

“Fear and trembling seize them” is one set phrase in Ge’ez, yǝnaśśǝʾomu fǝrhat wa-raʿād, and Dillmann quotes it under naśʾa, “to take”, with this verse and 13:3. The ends of the earth are ʾaṣnāfa mǝdr, a phrase that stands in the Ethiopic Bible at Sirach 44:21 and Psalm 2:8.
