The complaint is small and total at once: 'nem ao menos... um instante,' not even a single instant of solitude. For the enslaved, privacy does not exist; the body is always available, always claimable, and the soul is never permitted to close its door. It is one of slavery's quietest deprivations, and Isaura names it exactly.
