Que importava que ele tivesse salvado a vida de uma pessoa, se punha em risco a existência de toda a família, e sobretudo a dela?
This time, though, D. Lauriana hoped to win; and thought it impossible that her husband would not severely punish this abominable crime of a man who went to the woods to tie up a jaguar and bring it home alive. What did it matter that he had saved a person's life, if he put the whole family's existence — and above all her own — at risk?
