O fidalgo traduzia da melhor maneira que podia essa linguagem poética a Cecília, a qual já livre do susto queria por força, apesar do medo que lhe causava o selvagem, saber o que ele dizia.
D. Antônio listened, smiling at his style, now figurative, now as artless as the first phrases a child babbles at its mother's breast. The nobleman rendered that poetic speech to Cecília as best he could; she, now free of her fright, wanted at all costs, despite the fear the savage caused her, to know what he was saying.
