An existence of flowers

These feelings were all her life; in their midst she felt happy; nothing was lacking to her: nor did she covet anything more. So long as she could kiss her father's and her mother's hand, receive a caress from her brother and her cousin, smile at her cavalier and play with her slave, existence for her would be all flowers.
