Chapter V. As evening closes, a clatter of hooves announces the return of the riders — Álvaro among them — and Cecília, at his name, blushes.
The name at last — and it belongs to Álvaro, the young fidalgo Isabel loves and whom Cecília will love in return. Alencar sets the whole coming love-triangle in motion with three words, and the next line's blush tells us where it is headed.
