Καὶ εἶπεν Κύριος ὁ θεός Οὐ καλὸν εἶναι τὸν ἄνθρωπον μόνον· ποιήσωμεν αὐτῷ βοηθὸν κατ᾽ αὐτόν.
The chapter's second divine verdict of "not good" — the only thing in either creation account that God declares insufficient as it stands. βοηθὸν κατ᾽ αὐτόν, "a helper corresponding to him," renders Hebrew עֵזֶר כְּנֶגְדּוֹ — not a subordinate, but a counterpart, one who matches him.
