ἐγέννησεν δὲ Νῶε τρεῖς υἱούς, τὸν Σήμ, τὸν Χάμ, τὸν Ἰάφεθ.
The three sons who will repopulate the whole earth after the Flood (chs. 9–10, the Table of Nations). Only Shem’s line is carried into the New Testament: Luke 3:36 traces Jesus’ genealogy back through Shem to Noah and Adam. Ham and Japheth never appear in the NT text.
