Αὗται δὲ αἱ γενέσεις Νῶε. Νῶε ἄνθρωπος δίκαιος, τέλειος ὢν ἐν τῇ γενέσει αὐτοῦ· τῷ θεῷ εὐηρέστησεν Νῶε.
Αὗται … αἱ γενέσεις opens a new “toledot” section (Hebrew תֹּלְדֹת, “generations/account”), the book’s own recurring structural formula (cf. 2:4, 5:1). Swete’s Codex-A gives ἐν τῇ γενέσει αὐτοῦ, “in his generation/lineage”, where Brenton’s text reads ἐν τῇ γενεᾷ αὐτοῦ, “among his contemporaries” — a genuine lexical variant, independently re-verified against a zoomed page-image crop of Swete. τέλειος, “perfect”, and τῷ θεῷ εὐηρέστησεν, “was well-pleasing to God”, are the very words Hebrews 11:5 uses of Enoch — two “walked with God” figures given the same commendation.
