The setting

A new fact of the post-flood world: animals will now fear humankind. τρόμος καὶ φόβος ("trembling and fear") is a stock LXX pairing for terror; "into your hands are they given" (ὑπὸ χεῖρας ὑμῖν δέδωκα) is Hebrew idiom for total dominion/subjection, the same idiom Scripture later uses of enemies delivered into someone's power.
