In the image of God

ὁ ἐκχέων αἷμα ἀνθρώπου ἀντὶ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτοῦ ἐκχυθήσεται, ὅτι ἐν εἰκόνι θεοῦ ἐποίησα τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
The reason human blood is uniquely accountable, and the root of the murder-prohibition: humankind is made κατ' εἰκόνα θεοῦ (echoing Gen 1:26-27's own phrase). εἰκών is the same word Paul uses of Christ as "the image of the invisible God" (Col 1:15) and of believers being conformed to that image (Rom 8:29, 2 Cor 3:18).
