Um ano havia que obtivera do prior-geral da ordem do Carmo a graça de passar do seu convento de Santa Maria Transpontina, em Roma, para a casa que a sua ordem tinha fundado em 1590 no Rio de Janeiro, a fim de empregar-se no trabalho das missões.
A year earlier he had obtained from the prior-general of the Order of Carmel the favor of moving from his convent of Santa Maria Transpontina, in Rome, to the house his order had founded in 1590 in Rio de Janeiro, in order to employ himself in the work of the missions.
