" Roteiro verídico e exato em que se trata da rota que fez Robério Dias, o pai, em o ano da graça de 1587 às paragens de Jacobina, onde descobriu com o favor de Deus as mais ricas minas de prataria que existam no mundo; com a suma de todas as indicações de marcos, balizas e linha equinocial onde demoram aquelas ditas minas; começado em 20 de janeiro, dia do mártir São Sebastião, e terminado na primeira dominga de Páscoa em que chegamos com a mercê da Providência nesta cidade do Salvador."
Truthful and exact itinerary treating of the route that Robério Dias, the father, made in the year of grace 1587 to the regions of Jacobina, where he discovered by the favor of God the richest silver mines that exist in the world; with the sum of all the indications of landmarks, markers and equinoctial line where those said mines lie; begun on the 20th of January, day of the martyr Saint Sebastian, and finished on the first Sunday of Easter on which we arrived by the mercy of Providence in this city of Salvador.
